Humorous Self-Diagnosis Test for Adult ADHD
Dear ADHD Doodle Diary,
Today, I created a humorous Adult ADHD self-diagnosis test. It’s purely for fun and not a substitute for professional diagnosis. If you suspect you have ADHD, please consult a healthcare professional.
- When trying to focus on a task, how often do you:
- A. Complete it without distractions.
- B. Get distracted by every shiny object and interesting noise around you.
- When attending a meeting or lecture, do you:
- A. Sit still and listen attentively.
- B. Doodle, fidget, and daydream about what’s for dinner.
- How do you handle organizing your workspace?
- A. Everything is in its place, neat and tidy.
- B. Your desk looks like a tornado hit a stationery store.
- Do you often:
- A. Remember important dates and appointments.
- B. Forget what you were doing 5 minutes ago.
- When reading a book, do you:
- A. Read from start to finish with ease.
- B. Start reading, get bored, start another book, then another…
- How do you approach a to-do list?
- A. Methodically, crossing off tasks one by one.
- B. Write the list, lose it, find it, then forget what you wrote.
- When someone is talking to you, do you:
- A. Listen carefully and remember the conversation.
- B. Nod along while your brain replays that catchy jingle from a TV commercial.
- How do you deal with time management?
- A. Plan ahead and stick to your schedule.
- B. Rush through everything at the last minute because “Oh no, is it due today?!”
- What’s your strategy for grocery shopping?
- A. Stick to a well-prepared list.
- B. Wander the aisles wondering if you need another jar of pickles.
- When it comes to hobbies and interests, do you:
- A. Stick to one or two activities.
- B. Dive into new hobbies every week and have a graveyard of unfinished projects.
- When using your phone or computer, do you:
- A. Focus on one task at a time.
- B. Have 37 tabs open, plus your phone buzzing with notifications.
- How often do you:
- A. Feel like you’re in control of your life.
- B. Feel like you’re juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle.
Results Interpretation:
- Mostly A’s: You might not have ADHD, or you’ve found excellent Adult ADHD Coping Strategies!
- Mostly B’s: Welcome to the club! You might have ADHD, or you’re simply very creative at finding distractions. Either way, you’re in good company.
This diary entry is my coping strategy for Adult ADHD. If you’ve made it this far, you either haven’t got Adult ADHD, or something else hasn’t distracted you yet. Bravo! Though, I’m not going to push my luck. It’s time to wrap this diary entry up.
